When do you change goals?
Any time you feel it’s the right thing.
That’s right. I hope you dream more every day and find the destinations you really want to visit.
With that in mind, there’s a little more advice from me. Take it or leave it.
Ask yourself these questions:
- Is it fear or are there hard things on the way you are trying to avoid?
- Then tune into the feeling of the intentions you have.
- Does the destination still FEEL right?
- What parts of it don’t feel right? Is it the destination or the directions to get there?
Sometimes we jump off our goals because we have fear or discomfort of hard things. I’d invite you to lean in just a little bit. Most of the time, it’s just uncomfortable — not unsafe. Discomfort is growth in progress.
It’s okay to pivot or define the destination if it truly feels right in your soul. Just make sure you make that decision from your heart and body and not just the mind that can be easily scared off.
And keep in mind, you can always take a different route to the goal. That’s when we relook at our directions. Maybe it’s the directions that aren’t working. There could be an easier way. Most of us like to make things harder than they need to be.
