Episode 30: About Having It All…

If you are Gen X, then you are familiar with the stories that you could have it all if you just worked hard enough.

And it does seem like some people are able to do it… at least from their Instagram stories.

My guest, Dr. Lisa Petty, has done the research on midlife and she has a lot to say about 'having it all" and what we truly want.

In this juicy conversation, we'll cover:

  • What alchemy in midlife means (5:39)
  • The pressures of Gen X women (9:32)
  • How do you know who you are? (15:42)
  • Why we're so judge-y(24:06)
  • We're all creative (32:37)
  • How we get inspired answers (36:58)

ABOUT DR. PETTY:

Dr. Lisa Petty started her career as a holistic nutritionist and health researcher, and quickly became recognized as a speaker, journalist, award-winning author and media health expert. After several years coaching women who struggled to follow through on their health goals, Lisa earned a PhD for her research on how midlife women experience self-care in the face of the social pressures on them to be perfect in every facet of their lives. Her new book “Forget About Having It All: The Midlife Woman’s Guide to Creating the Life you Want” is a combination of research findings and Lisa’s own story of midlife self-discovery. Through a combination of research and woo, Lisa now helps midlife women navigate midlife and create the life they really want. Learn more about her program, Midlife Alchemy on her site.
