Challenges are how we prove how far we've come

It’s true. Challenges are the fourth phase of shift because they solidify our transformation. How we react to the challenges that come determine how far we’ve transformed.

So often I hear, but I thought I was past this because I got my a-ha. I know that this old story isn’t true, yet it keeps coming back for me. Shift can feel like déjà vu. We can make it halfway up the mountain and then have to backtrack to get any further and just when you think you’ve conquered it, another peak is just out of reach.

It reminds me of my favorite Bruce Almighty scene with Morgan Freeman. You can watch it here, but my favorite quote is this:

“If someone prays for patience, you think God gives them patience, or do you think He gives them the opportunity to be patient?

If someone prays for courage, you think God gives them courage or do you think He gives them an opportunity to be courageous?

If someone prays for the family to be closer, do you think God zaps them with warm, fuzzy feelings or does He gives them opportunities to love each other?”

Challenges are the way we tell old stories that they are no longer true. By making choices over and over that align with our a-ha, we are making it a part of our cells. The choice becomes easier over time, but it’s still a choice we have to make.

Challenges are our opportunities to mark our growth and our continued dedication to our spiritual connection. By making choices based on our own defined moral code, we ensure that our actions and words are in tune with our intuition.

Challenges show us our weaknesses and strengths. They help us learn more about ourselves in order to navigate the best path forward. They help us stretch into things we never would have thought we could do.

Honor the challenges that you’ve survived. Chances are, they are partly responsible for your awesomeness.
