{Christina’s Gift Perspective}

Honoring Our Gifts (14)Shelter may seem like a fundamental, and it is, however, I thought it impressive that this would come up the day after Black Friday. While we are shopping for things to fill the house, I think it’s also important to remember the gifts of what we already have.

Whenever I want to complain about Winter, I am so grateful to have my home that keeps me warm. A few years ago we had a storm that knocked the electricity out for over a week. I like to remember how cold and frustrating it was and what a relief it was when it flicked back on. Let’s not wait until we lose things to be grateful for them.

Our home may not be our dream home, but if it feels safe and keeps you dry, at a livable temperature, we are pretty blessed.

Honoring our shelter:

Some ideas:

Care for it. Our shelter is a relationship of reciprocity. We must give for it to give. Spruce it up in some way to honor how it cares for you.

Make it smell good. I love sage or essential oils in the air. We don’t always think of our noses, or how it can change the entire atmosphere of our homes. Creating a calm, safe space is often one way we can appreciate our space more.

How can you honor your abode today?

Simple ways to be grateful for our gifts. And of course, you don’t have to stick to our calendar – you can be grateful for anything that comes along today. This is just a prompt.

I’d love to hear what you are honoring today and how you are doing it. Check in with us and leave some comments.
