Honoring Our Gifts

If you’ve noticed, Charlie and I have been taking turns on some pre-thought of prompts. What you might not know is that we didn’t plan which I would do or which he would do. And I’ve gotten a ton of the ones I probably would have told him to do. And I am in awe about how much I still have to work on, like my own beauty.

The truth is, I am a good hider of beauty, so this is a good challenge for me. In fact, even though you see  me in video from time to time, I have very few images of myself. I have pictures of Charlie and my kid, but I’m not in them. So if finding your beauty if a challenge to you, know that I am right there with you. And this wouldn’t be a challenge if we didn’t have work yet to do in this area so it’s the perfect way to start connecting to your beauty.

Beauty is both external and internal.

However, if appreciating your physical beauty is more challenging to you, choose to honor it today.

Ways we can honor our beauty:

  • Ground ourselves and think about all the ways we’ve connected to others. What beauty do you think they see? How can you honor those gifts?
  • Think about all the beautiful things your body allows you to accomplish and do. Honor it by taking some self-care time.
  • Do the thing for your body or beauty that you’ve been saying you would – go for that mani-pedi, buy the expensive lotion, or get that haircut you’ve been putting off.
  • Play dress up. This is how some of us appreciated our beauty when we were young.
  • Take selfies and then instead of pointing out all the flaws, find a compliment for each one. Say it loudly to yourself. It starts building new connections in our brain to our own beauty.

What we tell ourselves is what we start to believe. How can you start fully seeing and believing in your own beauty?

How can you honor your beauty today?

Simple ways to be grateful for our gifts. And of course, you don’t have to stick to our calendar – you can be grateful for anything that comes along today. This is just a prompt.

I’d love to hear what you are honoring today and how you are doing it. Check in with us and leave some comments.
